Winbind is a network communicator for Samba. It comes with the Samba suite.

wbinfo -u

Winbind doesn't list network accounts... When the command

is run, winbind only lists local accounts on the server. Possible problems

• winbind files are corrupt
• PDC is running heavy

Perform these taks in order:

• Stop the samba and winbind services
• Make a copy of the winbind files locates in /var/lib/samba
• Delete... files only... in /var/lib/samba
• Rejoin the network net rpc join [-s <domain>] -U[username]
• Restart samba and winbind.

Check the domain controllers systems load. The PDC may not be able to respond to a member server's request before it times out. Increase the winbind cache time so that winbind doesn't query the PDC as often.
